Even if you could find a relatively cheap one, 3D game development softwares, are, unfortuanetly, very complicated. I've once looked for such programs, but I failed miserably. The best software I have found in my searches is Game Editor, which is inexpensive compared to alot of other game development programs.

Yeah if you know how to program, you can pick up just about any game creation software and do great things with it. But if you don't, you gotta start with a friendly program.

I like GE because it has taught me how to program, and unlike many others out there, GE uses C scripting, a real language, so what i learn will help me with anything I decide to do in the future, programmingwise.

Many of the other 'beginner' softwares out there use a custom scripting language, so if you ever go to a different software, you have to relearn everything. That's no good!

There's a program called Blender thats free. Blender can make videos and games in 3d and it''s more powerful then Hash.

and more complicated than a barrel full of terminators being washed by a spaceship full of sentinels.

DST is right. If you know how to program well, you can put some 3D software. If you dont, blah you are in the correct site of friendly game maker. Oh yah be carefull, make 3D game is not as easy as you think. I still feel dumb working on 2 axises, what will i be if work on 3 axises??
But depend on you..i guess you will back and download the game editor here :D

Thats why I'm starting out with Game Editor so I can learn C++ and move up to Blender later on.

Yes, many of the really POWERFUL 3D programs are hard to understand. I've been using blender for quite a bit now, but never get farther than a few of the basic things. 3D has so many things to keep in mind, that 3D games are almost only made in teams.

Simply face it: there's no game-editor 3d! 3D game = 6373 on the pi-ith power on the e-ith root!

Game editor < 1 + 1!
recommendation: if nothing else: definately start with 2d, game-editor!
