PB & Jay [demo 1] (Test and comment for points)

Postby pyrometal » Sun Jun 21, 2009 11:40 pm

Hello all!

I told some of you already that I was making a new game, well, here's a demo! I fully intend to finish this game and have promised some people that I would do this already. I now also promise this to the GE community (unless I die...) Therefore, I want to make this game as good as possible, and I need your feedback to do so. I will award one point per user for testing and commenting on this early demo which shows basically my game mechanics so far and my improved spriting style! The downlosd is located below the following sections!

CONTROLS:
- Press C to fire
- Hold C to charge a shot
- Release C to shoot a charged shot
- Press X to jump
- Hold X to jump higher
- Press DOWN to morph into a cube and switch character control
- Press UP to morph into a balloon and switch character control

CHARACTER DIFFERENCES:
- PB can jump 5 blocks high while Jay can only jump 3
- Jay runs 2 times faster than PB

0_o you have a knack of making simply amazing games. You definately have a defined style, which just got better, graphics and all. The only complaint i have is that it's better then my game . I really can't wait to see the full product, and good luck to you. You can really create some unique puzzles with two people, don't forget that. Just keep doin' what you do! :)

Simply awesome. The character changing as well as the stuff you can do with it.
I love this game, I'd be happy to see (this one at least) as a full game. Keep "finishing" it XD

Definetely! I might even download MPT if you wanna keep your game small (concerning file size, I mean).

Awesome, I was actually going to ask you to use modules of some kind for exactly that reason! It doesn't have to be MPT, but the final product should be a module type that GE supports. I personnaly hate downloading large files and I know that this will stop many users from downloading my game, which makes file size and important factor to keep in mind. Anyway, I will talk to you about this more at a later time! Thank you and ttyl!

Bee-Ant, you'll be happy to know that I haven't abandoned this game and I am working on it right now. I plan on finishing this one because (unlike my other tries) this one seems worth the effort. Thanks for the compliments also!

Bee-Ant wrote:Ummm, wont you try another style pyro?

Well the reason I've made so many platformers was that I really wanted to make one since I was a little kid and that all my other tries didn't satisfy me. You can see it as an evolution of my platformer making skills if you wish. I have had attempts at making a shmup and an a few RPGs as well. I plan on posting another one of my game failiures ometime soon which was a shmup (not a platformer for once)

Bee-Ant wrote:Kall is great on music. His help wont dissapoint you.

Kall has already made a track for my game too, and its really cool! Still awaiting for his reply to my last email though...

ttyl now!
