How to export a game

Postby chip92us » Sat Sep 22, 2007 2:23 am

I'm pretty new to this program, so excuse my ignorance. :)

When I load the game that I created, and then click File -> Export, I can then select what type of game I want to export it as. I select Windows Executable. Then I click export.

I then go to the Game Editor folder under Program Files in (C:). I then open the Tutorials folder and my game (with the standard pacman icon) is there. When I double-click on it, it opens up a new window and freezes. I have to close it with Windows Task Manager.

What am I doing wrong? Am I exporting it in the wrong file type? If I am, I don't know how, so someone please explain.

Thanks for reading!

Can you post the exported game file?

I just tried and it said "The extension exe is not allowed."

Should I try exporting it as Game Data Only, and then posting it?

Does it make a difference where I export it? Instead of exporting it to the Tutorials folder, should I export it straight to my desktop or somewhere else?

the data files are basically the "data" folder and all it's contents, along with the .GED file (your game file).

And when you export a game as a standalone executable, you don't need a data file because it all of the data is included in the application that is created, right?

And when I post the data file, it is ok that is has stuff from my other games in it, right?

I just need to load your game into Game Editor. So, I need the ged and the data folder of this game.
If you want, send to my email.
