Favorite 2D game type

I'd just like to hear some opinions to get an idea what the main stream is.
By game type I mean things as RPG, Platformer, Puzzle, Point'n'click etc.

I'll go for platformer.

what about games with isometric camra, but with 2d graphics ( starcraft, diablo, ect )

i like most 2d games, as long as it keeps me interested. but my favorite is platformers and puzzle games but not just anykind of puzzle game, one's with unique game play

ie: civiballs, superstacker

or any other RPG games. very mythical game player. dragons and fighting ftw.

Oh, and good strategy games (tower defense might be a specific type).
Also I quite enjoy puzzles such as Luxor.
And random games where you have to survive as long as you can.

My favorites would have to be segas Altered Beast and super nintendos Street Fighter 2. These two games were awesome and had pretty good replay value back when i was 10. And they are still worth a game or two when i see a pal has them at his house. I miss the old days of 2d games when the gameing world wasnt all about awesome cinematics, if i want to see a movie ill go to a movie not play a video game. But thats just me.
