Transparent background using iconlover

Postby Sgt. Sparky » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:42 am

:( I know I posted a question bout' this allready, but nobody will give the answer to this one question: "How do I make a transparent background with a .gif file in Icon lover?" :( Game editor will not recognise the white background as transparent, and I am 100% sure it is a solid white background, as white a background as you can make on a computer. it would be nice to get an answer on how do do this with icon lover. :?, I have waited a pretty long time for an answer but it will not come
i want just to set up my animation going from white to transparent. :(

change the gif into a graphic with the frames stored as a sprite sheet.. like

1234
5678

You know? Then set the background to clear, and recreate it as a gif, if needed for web use, or use it like that, if its for a game.

OK, IconLover supports transparent gif, its the color at the FAREST bottom left, (its not actually a color, its like stripes, but its the transparent color, when making new gif in icon lover, its good to make a 255 color mode, cuz then maybe there could be some partial transparent and then if you'd save a s a gif, it would because visible, and you don't like that, believe me!

I disected a pivot animation with gimp. if you load it into layers, you will see that the first frame contains the background color, and all others are also white, but not the same white as the BG. in addition, the program makes a white sort of shadow like the previous frames stick figure. Its an indexed pure white as well.

No wonder he is having trouble.

There is also a free software called Imagicon. The newest version is quite flexible with non-squared icons too and I think it can make transparent background. It's quick, small and simple, so try it.

By the way, what's the trial time of the 1.3.6 demo? I have it but I don't find the counter. Or has Makslane changed the system?
By the way, Gogo look at this:
