J-Type (by pyro)

Well, here is yet another unfinished game I started and lost my motivation to finish... This one is a little older now but people may learn a few things from it. Personally, I think this game stub is pretty cool, but I don't feel like finishing it since its literally nothing new from what already exists out there. All my ideas are taken from either Gradius or R-Type, which are both excellent slow tactical shmup series (I really love them). I want to make a shmup one day, but I need to find fresh (better) ideas... Enough rambling, here's what you need to know:

Controls:
X = Fire tha lazars!
Z = Force powerup storage (store a power-up in your gauge)
A = Trigger stored power-ups (if any)

- When you die, you lose all your equipment, but not powerups you have stored in your "powerup reserve" at the bottom of the screen.
- There are no enemies programed in (I didn't get to that)
- There exists no "orange laser" powerup (that means don't take the "L" powerup when its orange!)
- To Bee-Ant, this proves I can do other things than platformers!!!

I like it! Nice shooting. Could cause major mayhem in higher levels.

Thanks Kall! Altough DST makes better games of this genre than I do, I still try to put the right ingredients for mayhem of my own style!

lolz i've always wondered how to do "snakeing" and this demo tought me it, wow pyro you make everything seem simple. I was trying all kinds of unnecessary ways of doing it (that won't be mentioned XD)
Working on a probably too ambitious project! Wild-west-adventure-RPG-shooter-thing.

Glad this could help you Jimmy! Things are easy when you know exactly how to go about a problem. Always strive to acquire more programming knowledge, that way you can acheive more independance when coding later on. ttyl!
