How can I make "Cheat codes" in GE?

Well,

In my lame excuse for a game, there's a cheat code
"Edomdog" = godmode" ( :| I know...) but its not working.

How can I catch a line of text typed by the player?

There is no easy way to make cheat code now.

Future version will fire Key events to sequenced keys, not only single keys.

Cheat codes are now more possible than ever! You need Game Editor V1.28 or higher to do this, but all you have to do is this:

Choose any actor the cheat code is for (preferably your main one). Add an event and choose Key Down. You'll be asked to press a sequence of keys, in your case type edomdog. The buttons you type appear in a box to make sure you get them right. In the dropdown box that reads "When at least one keys is pressed" and change it to "all keys pressed in sequence".
