what all keys can be mapped to a joystick in GE?

i want to have four simultaneous players on screen, but each player needs 14 buttons (standard xbox/ psx controller) but x4 players = 56 buttons. there are not enough keys on a keyboard to map all controllers to keys without using f1, f2, f3 etc. is there a way to achieve this?

or does ge recognize those keys already? i have no clue really

Just so you know, that can also be found in the script reference. http://game-editor.com/docs/script_reference.htm
There is also on another function, remapKey, on that page which you probably want to start looking at. It allows you to change controls, and could possibly be used to more easily have other people setup their controllers.

thanks skydereign, i actually was aware of the existence of this script reference page but didn't know that information was available there. i will make more of an effort to retain this type of information in the future!
