Create a database?

Would it be possible to create a database program with GE?

I need to create a database program with:

Four fields.

For Example: LastName, FirstName, Address,Notes

Program should:
Read Records,Write Records, Sort Records, Update Records, Delete Records, Add Records

If it is possible in GE, would it be extremely difficult? What C skills would I need to learn?
Sometimes I have trouble making standard C script work in GE.

After all, Game Editor is for making games.

I just like GE so much, I was hoping that I could use it for something that it isn't even supposed to do!
