Hey guys,

Has anyone here submitted a game to the new windows marketplace for mobiles?
Its a great new distributor, but with many validation problems as ive been told from many dev's.

Let me know! I'll be submitting in the near future and looking for a heads up!

Also keep watch in the Demo's section of the forum, I'll be posting 2 Demo's there in say.. 1 week  .

I hope the windows marketplace for mobiles are good as the AppStore for iPhone.
The big problem in the Windows Mobile is need a desktop to find and buy an application.
The Apple have solved this very well!

yeah, the marketplace for mobiles will be pre-installed on all phones starting with win Mobile 6.5 so I'm thinking if u want some success, get in there quickly! The Marketplace is sure to be flooded with apps over the coming months, but right now theres relatively no competition. The games i see there aren't very good at this point lol.

Have you been able to get your games in the store yet?

Seems like microsoft isnt playing fair i did some research seems like they stack the rules in thier favor. They made it so people using microsofts compiler got a jump on the competion. I dont think thats honorable at all. It should be for all developers, since its supposed to be official windows mobile store. Now i understand why some people dont like microsoft that much

Apalia has been pending certification for a month now, which I wouldn't say is fair as Ive spent money to get it tested.
No reply from support either..

Thats exactly what i mean you and chai have the best games made and you cant get your games listed. Also i found out through xda-developers the windows mobile market has been hacked 2 times already. That means people walking around with the full version free. I even found out what website these hackers are using http://www.ppcwarez.com . I think i warn you about this but i got no reply last time. Check it out for yourself and let skydereign know too. What i saw there was ridiculous and yet on that site
cracking pocket pc games is a sport. Also check out my site it in my signature i hope you join iam getting some traffic there. When its enough i open the store to sell games but that be in the future. If you want to help me run it by being an administrator just email me krenisis@yahoo.com. I have traffic but later iam going to pay an ad company to help me promote it more.

Well until the marketplace accept my game, and I see what the sales figures are like I'm going to be concentrating on java games for nokia etc
Unfortunately Windows Mobile statistics have dropped a lot in the past few months, and although Microsoft will be releasing Windows Mobile 7 next year they will be creating a new range of phones based on the Zune Mp3 player, which uses a different operating system.

So how about we concentrate on getting more developers onboard GE Evolution so we can turn it into an iphone Game Engine!

Btw - Apalia: Arena of Swords for Nokia is due before Xmas!!!

Well, I got my reply, even though it failed, it seems this was the only problem!

Omniarts Apalia Arena of Swords 1.1 - Certification Fail

1.14
Steps to Conduct the Test:
Only a single instance of a Single Document Interface
(SDI) application, or a file-based application, or a
control panel applet is allowed to run concurrently.

Expected Result:
Open the application and go back to the Home
screen so the application is still running in the
background. Go to the device Task Manager to
ensure the application shows up in the "Application"
list. Exit the Task Manager and reopen the
application. Open the Task Manager and ensure
there is only one instance of the application running.

Comments:
There is no button for the application that allows the application to be
running in the background. Steps to reproduce

1. Load the game.
2. Attempt to put the game on hold by pressing the "Home", "End", and "Back" Keys.

I´m not sure how to solve the home key problem.
Game Editor captures all keys to the game.
But some keys only the system have access, not the game engine.
If the home key is not a system only key, Game Editor doesn´t know thats is a special key.

About have only one game instance running, it is easy to solve.

I have a question makslane all the applications i seen that fit microsofts description have the pocket pc task bar along the top. Isnt there a way to auto -scale on game editor so the task bar shows. Thats really the only issue i had mentioned this couple months ago but it just got tossed aside.
Omni-arts i want you to try this it might work its worth good try.
1) you know what the task bar looks like already so make a taskbar graphically and put it along the top of the screen of your game.
2)program it to work like the task bar like the X is to close the app
Exitgame.
3)program the game to pause when out of focus. I dont know how maybe makslane or skydereign can. I dont know any commands that
control loss of focus but it has to be there.
4)Re-submit your application and tell me how it goes.
If anything i said was unclear just ask me peace.

so it would be possible to set the home/end keys etc to minimize the game from within GE?
I think that there is only one instance running.. its just the fact that the testers couldnt minmize the game to check.

The Game Editor engine for Windows Mobile games only works in full screen mode.
It is possible to make a version for window mode, but will be slower than the full screen mode.
