Making an animation from 5 separate files

Postby catacomber » Sat May 10, 2008 12:53 am

I have five separate files that represent the different frames of a fire animation. I want to add them into one actor so that the animation appears animated. Don't know if am explaining it so it's easily understandable.

If I add all five files into my actor and hit multiple file it looks correct--but when I go to save it that way, ge tells me it needs to be a single actor. If i make it a single actor I just get one of the animation images, not all, so it's not animated. Do I have to put all the images into one file?

That's wierd.....I never had any problems using 'multiple files' before.
However, if you want to make them animate as one image, you have to tell it the number of horizontal and vertical frames in the image......

Does your new avatar come from anything special? I see you like the color green. : )

Trying this animation thing still doesn't work for me. I'm sure there's a way but not sure how.

I also see Lost Synapse is very colorful. I like it.

Thanks, guys, I got it. Caaz reminded me you have to number the files. : ) ) )

Is there any example here of adding a quest in an rpg type game?

For example, you bump into Lord Y and he asks you to bring him x object. Using a global variable, can you set the global when you get the quest and then solve the quest by setting a different number to the variable? How can you do it?
