I've been thinking about what GE could do with to make it more recognisable, and I was wondering maybe it could go with a more distinctive mascot? I don't have anything wrong with the Pacman-esque icon but I feel Game Editor needs something more unique. Maybe?

What do you think?

How about the pacman icon, along with some famous games made with game editor, a bit like https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/389 ... engers.png, only better, and more like an actual game making engine mascot.

On the topic of the ge mascot, has makslane changed his opinion since this topic was made almost 4 years ago?
By and large, Yes. I think it does need a new logo. Heck, I thought it needed a new one since I first signed onto this forum.

I'm wondering... How did we get Pac-Man as our mascot in the first place? Isn't Pac-Man Namco's mascot? Isn't he copyrighted? We are in no financial position to survive a lawsuit. Namco is still alive and kicking and if it finds a breach to its copyrights then we will be under fire.

Mascots ideas:

GE text symbol
Bird
Tool icon
computer icon
sprite or pixel icon
controller icon

Beyond a mascot, advertising what the Game-Editor software can do is most important, along with offering exciting, free GE video game demos and sample games to learn from. This site has plenty that can help out, though more are always welcome.
The competition out there is tough, but GE is a great tool for those up for the challenge.

Maybe a cool robot with the GE icon for a head would be neat.
