I would stick to between 640x480 and 1024x768 for pc games. maybe 1152x864 at a push!

1024 by 768 is a good size, which most monitors can do. Bigger is better, of course, but many people wouldn't have a larger monitor. Sometimes, your game might require a different proportion, or something like that. My current project uses 600 by 768. For pocket pcs, you will of course have to use a supported size. Games where you can change resolution are good, but GE doesn't support that (yet).

It depends on game. Some games are just nice when they are for example 200x200. You can work and play the same time. :D

Big adventure games I prefer fullscreen...and all games with sound.
Small games and ALL the arcade games I prefer windowed.

It's not possible yet in GE. Or do you mean that inside the view the game changes it's size?
