Sooo... Hi :)

Talk about making games.

Sooo... Hi :)

I am planning on getting the software this evening when I get home... But while I am sitting here planning, I am wondering about the power of the system... the type of game I want to attempt building is along the lines of diner dash, a sequence driven game... but I want to tie it to skills and or items...

It would be like a cross between the level oriented structure of RPG skills tree, but with a core sequence game that just has variables on the outcome of the various points in the sequence :)

if that isn't too confusing anyone know if this type of thing would be possible?

I always thought Hell would be a giant load screen that goes on for eternity, then one day, eons later, it would end, only to reveal a slightly different loading screen.

Right now (10/14/2009) I'm working on some C++ projects, but I might be able to help if you have some Game Editor questions. :)

my text is indigo not violet ;) because I wanted too

And super on the being able to do it... I build stuff in VBA for work quite often and the scripting while in a different language is the same principle for the most part :) just different wording and such so that will be my learning curve... all in all though it looks likes with a little bit of searching a lot of the things I could run into have already been addressed in prior postings too...

So we shall see what kind of a mess I can make with this thing :) I really should plan this out on paper a bit before starting so I don't get lost in it all :) if I get this to the state I am hoping I will be happy :) if not well.... it will be worth the experience :)

I think you would be better off doing lots of simple experiment games to get used to the software before trying a big project. Most of the first games you make will be dodgy, and if you try to make a good project you can easily get discouraged. Don't expect the first games you make to be good.

My First game wasn't so great, but after about three or so games i started to understand most of the stuff. You should look at Game A Gogo's games, there really cool! Or look at Sgt.Sparky's games, there more complex and confusing! I'm still making simple games but i bet ill make some sort of cool game someday.

P.S. take a look at my game, Strategy Ball!
