Runners - game introduction & development DEMO RELEASED!

Postby lcl » Sun Nov 14, 2010 9:56 am

Hi everyone! :D
I got new project (based on one of my oldest games...)
The game is going to be 2 player running game where you can choose your character,
collect and use power-ups to make opponents game harder and your game easier.
There will be many levels and power-ups.

I already have made some characters for the game and I will make more.
What you think of playing as super mario, donald duck, stitch experiment 626, etc. ? :D

I will also add some GE characters if their makers allow me to use them and / or give me animations.

There will of course be caveman, my Snorky and his little red enemy as playable characters. :D

If you got ideas, please tell 'em to me. :D

I will send the game here when it's ready and full game.

CURRENT CHARACTERS:
  • Gelman
  • Mazeman
  • Snorky
  • Snorkys enemy
  • Red farmer
  • Blue farmer
  • Caveman
  • Yolumb
  • Pacman (from GE)
  • Stitch Experiment 626
  • Ize
  • Wallice
  • Penkus
  • Johnny the Stickman
  • Earthbot
  • Halloween Lich
...and still more coming!

I have asked about using Mazeman, Gelman, Ize, Penkus, Wallice and Yolumb animations and I have gotten permission to use them.

CURRENT POWER-UPS:
  • Spikes
  • Lightning

BUGS FOUND:
  • Halloween Lich keeps dying immediately (reason for that is already found, will be soon fixed)
  • Player 2 can be hit by ground above (will be fixed soon)
  • Player 2 can go to player 1's side (will be fixed soon)

TO DO:
  • Power-ups
  • Better graphics
  • More players
  • More levels
  • Backgrounds
  • Back to menu -feature

GAMEPLAY VIDEO:
http://lcl-games.webs.com/apps/videos/videos/show/11402441-runners-gameplay-video
It's not new but has still the main things of game.

SCREENSHOTS:

Now there is much more playable characters!

In this screenshot you can see the lightning, it's one of power-ups.
It's transparent 'cause it's fading away.

The level finish.

DEMO:
Here is demo of runners!
When playing it, remember that this is just demo, and that's why it has bugs,
and many things will be changed and bugs fixed for the complete version.

CONTROLS:
Player one
Move: arrow keys
Jump: up
Use power-up: right shift

Player two
Move: a, d
Jump: w
Use power-up: left shift

You can currently use power-ups as much as you want, but there will be limit when the game is ready.
Also, there is currently only 2 power-ups, lightning and spikes.

@kren: Thanks. :D

@Bee-Ant: I planned already of asking Ize's animations from you, you can surely give me also those other ones. :D I thought I would not send demo before full game because usually after that my projects stop. BUT I can send the demo for you, 'cause I want to get your characters to this game.

@dynamicdynasty: I will look at those graphics. :D
Thanks. :D My email: GamesLCL@gmail.com :D

@schnellboot: Sorry, but I will not send a demo now for anyone. I have my reasons, one of them is that it is so incomplete. You see that I gave demo to Bee-Ant 'cause he wanted that before sending the graphics to me. But wait for the complete game. It will be worth it. :D

You should add my Trip to Mars Ship, just make him looking sideways.

It is a racing game. Mine just flies instead of running.
