I'm not sure why, i've seen it in a few game resource pages. But there aren't many game results, or spawned creator sites from it, (though i hear asmodeus is trying to change that).

Never badmouth the competition. If the best thing can say about your product is that the other companies products suck, then that doesn't say much for your product.
The truth is, Game Maker is a great piece of software. Game Editor is also a great piece of software. But they both have strong points and weak points. Its true of anything.
We don't know where these things will end up in the future. GM has a much wider user base (100x larger), but it also shortcuts some elements of game structure and coding; so when it comes to utilitarian programming, the smaller group here at GE can definitely give them a run for their money.
And since Mak opened up the source, (and from what i've seen, mr. Overmars is excessively protective), things may turn around soon. It all depends on what we contribute.
speaking of contributing the source:

What i think ge lacks are larger handling systems for rpg events. It would be nice to have a built in cue array for dialog/text, healthmeters, and cinematic triggers.
While many users write their own, which is a great thing, it doesn't make rpg's accessible to the new user, or at least, not friendly.
But its not too far away; considering that we now have a few members who have written text handling systems - and have some idea of how they should be, the information we need to add this to the main program is floating around the forum already. I will bet you any amount of money that
knowing how the feature should operate is infinitely more important than knowing the specific syntax for coding it; You can look up c syntax on the net; find out anything you want to know about c. But knowing how dialog and cinematics should function? Only people with experience in making rpgs know that.

My top suggestions are:
Finish your games! Give google some content to list!
Help develop the wiki page!
Help Asmodeus develop the site he's making!
And don't forget to have fun!
