animating sprites

i have just about finished a game and am wondering how to animate sprites for my next one if there is a good program that someone could post to create a moving sprite. thanks

Try Graphics Gale or the demo of Pro Motion and see if they work for you.

Same here, I use paint, and i don't think it's crap.
You just need to know how to use it and practice. I've used it since i was around 5 / 6 years old (Im now 15).
Occasionally i use Photoshop for bigger things, and i've been using for more than a year. It takes longer to get the hang of, but you can do some cool stuff with it.
If you've seen my latest game in the game Demos section, the were-wolf (Scarwolf) Boss is made on photoshop aswell as the cover and few other things. Everything else is done on paint. The demo is here: http://game-editor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9305

I still can't understand how you can do so aweome things with paint.
I'd love to learn to make as good graphics with it as you do.
How long it takes from you to make one animation of one character with paint?
