Asteroids

Postby jimmynewguy » Thu Apr 04, 2013 4:18 pm

I started writing a tutorial for an asteroids game. It became a wall of text and I haven't finished it yet. Here's the finished product when you follow it though. All lines commented.

- Up for throttle
- left/right to rotate
- z to shoot.

Jimmy's back! Woot!

The demo was pretty accurate to the real thing, I'm looking forward to reading the tutorial that goes with it. :)

I never really left, I just kinda check the forum every now and then. I don't have a good idea for a game so I just haven't been working on anything really.

Okay so i downloaded the asteroid demo and Worked on it

At first i read the script to understand the game concept
then i enhanced all the graphics and added a Aurora effect made on Photoshop Cs6 which is really neat!
after that i messed up the Scripts so when you dies 3 times you automaticly quit the game
I also added Two stable ship that spin on they're self and randomly shoot for help
And i finally added a Original feature of the Asteroids Game :THE VANISH

TheVanish:

With the vanish you can be for 3 second invulnerable to asteroids BUT the vanish make you dissapear so you don't know were you are
And for additional RAGE the vanish teleport you to a random place on the screen

I will sure add the full demo If JIMMYNEWGUY Accept
The Name Of the game is asteroids WX-4
i originally started with WX-1,the upgraded it to WX-2,the upgraded again to WX-3,And finall upgraded to WX-4

So yeah i hope i can post the demo !

Cool, Jimmy (Timmy)!
Simple game, and works well. I'm waiting for your tutorial too.
I'm sure it will be good for beginners to get some idea on how to use game editor.

It's nice you're BACK!
I played your Gag vs Bunnah -game a few days ago, and got addicted to it again.
You can imagine how happy I was to see you post a new game demo. :D
