Just ran GE fresh and opened demo in game mode, waited.. still nothing, all i get is the title 'gefox - texture raycasting engine' text and a black screen under it, can't seem to do anything.

It must be a Vista thing, usually is :) everything seems to take me twice as long to do on Vista as it did on XP, its like when i went from Amiga to Windows all over again, sometimes i miss the old days, speaking of which, GE reminds me of how Imagine 3D used to look on Amiga.

Here you can set the resolution and so the speed of the example.

Now THAT is freakin cool! Obviously GE isn't designed to handle it but....heck...way cool.
It's easier to be clever than it is to be kind.

I mean, also the 3d-like-thing.
I mean, where's all the stuff if you view the demo with GE? It doesn't appear.
and what's .raw ?

Raw is like a image. I think he used raw files because he can read them (the colors of each pixel).

I just got a new vista laptop, its awsome and everything, but I agree that its terrible when it comes to compatibility. Now anim8or wont work, and I cant play certain games, and the equals sign does not work on GE! What will I do without the equals sign! Anyway, THAT DEMO IS AWSOME! ITS LIKE GE IS GOING 3D! ITS SO COOL! How did you do it. The script makes about as much sense to me as quantom phisics (physics?/cuantum/quantum/cuantom?)

when I looked at the script, I couldn't make the whole out, cuz the lines were too long and script editor was too short.

it would be really cool if GE had a side-scroll-bar in script editor.

Also, here is a tip at understanding the code!!

and as well, a mini description of raycasting

The way it is drawn is used with rays simulations, like if you where looking at something and your eye shoot rays at the surfaces retrieving the quality of it.
But it does this the other way, the rays comes from the wall, and is directed to the view.

ray casting and ray tracing are very similar, but ray tracing will not stop upon one object, it will gather the rays of other ray surfaces interfering with it's one one.
Since it requires a lot more computing, it isn't used for real time games.

and here is me somewhat description.
Programming games is an art,
    Respect it.

All you have to do is click on the line and press the "end" button on your keyboard, to go back to the beginning of that line, press "home." =D

Right now (10/14/2009) I'm working on some C++ projects, but I might be able to help if you have some Game Editor questions. :)
