Ideas for Game Editor evolution.

Tiled map import (or similar interface)

Postby speckford123 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 11:19 pm

I've been looking at the program called "Tiled" which lets you quickly draw maps out and was wondering if it would ever be feasible to import one of their maps?
I was only curious because the tile drawing inside of game editor, is well..... is kind of bad
I've been here for years and have never had fun drawing maps with tile actors, hahaha

even if we could draw inspiration from that program and have a visual showing of tiles appear on screen that we could click on to choose between them, that would be amazing and save countless hours of time

Yeah, that's generally why people end up writing their own map editors. But improving the tile editor gui and loading in basic tmx files are definitely doable. I've added it to the git tracker for 1.4.2.

Yeah tileing in GE kinda sucks... imagine if tiles were alined on a grid and you could and subtract tiles at will and edit it as you like.
