Creating Game GED file on PC then convert to Mac?

Can I use the GE PC Version to create my GED file(s) and then purchase the Mac version (on my Mac of course) to convert for the App Store?

I am currently torned between Game Editor or Game Salad for iOS game development - anyone have any comments of either for iOS development?
