need good coders for thease effects

Postby j2graves » Sat Dec 15, 2007 9:28 am

I want things underwater to look distorted & all so that it actually looks like it's in water.

and (I know this one will be complicated) I want a ring ripple effect like when a stone falls in water. does anyone here know how to do this?

I even doubt that it's possible with GE.
I mean, you'd need some sort of lense effect.
it would certainly work with 3d models, but I don't think 2d sprites would do.

GE-made games?
yeah, 3d models is only one way.
then you should have some sort of liquid object settings.
I have a 3d game studio which has liquids...
but I don't think GE does.
It's mainly got actors and animations and stuff.
maybe it could work with canvas actors...
I have no idea.

If not, this would be a case for the feature request section,
But it's gonna be hard for makslane, I tell ya!

yea, j2graves, you could try to use that in your game!
just set the transparecy higher make it infinitive and z depth high.

My idea is to use that as an effect in a super attack like a rippling shockwave.

maybe you could use this...
Just change that transparency to 0.5 and zdepth to 1
(remember, its just an example, you could make it smoother with add that animation)
