Question about outlines

Postby arcreamer » Fri Dec 06, 2013 8:40 pm

So I've used 3D modelling in the past, but this is the first time I've used 3Ds Max to make game models and in the past I believe I would save the image as a .tga and the outlines around the model would disappear in game-editor but it doesn't seem to work with this. I have a screenshot to show the issue I'm talking about. The black jagged lines around the model instead of it being smooth and crisp. Image

You may be accidentally saving your model pictures with a black background instead of a transparent one. In the case of an image with no transparency, Game-Editor will take the color value of the top-left pixel in the picture and make all pixels of the same color transparent. From what I can see in your example, the image seems to have been exported with a black background and Game-Editor is erasing most of it, except for the parts where it starts to change color around the model. Try looking over how you're saving your photo in your 3D Modeling program to make sure you're doing it right.
