im thinking about how to do it, but its late.. thoughts scattered.
you need to base the xmouse,ymouse (or preferabley add a cursor actor because GE messes up the xmouse ymouse co-ords) around the canvas.x/y + cursor.x/y.
if that makes sense.
canvas 0,0 is at its top left corner.
