i was thinking of making one of these, i think it would be possible. i think it would be hard though

it's possible indeed, but if you're new to this I guess you'll have to start small.
for example, make a game where you only have to advance in 1 direction, fight only 1 enemy and win when you defeted his town center, or something like that.
That would be easy to make and to a bigger strategy game it's not a really big step, at least not as big as from zero to hundred.

I've made one, and posted it! See it in the Game Developement section - Called Squareland Wars - it's kinda simple, but it still was quite an adventure making it.
Sorry, for not posting code, you could view, but I'm affraid you'd either not understand it, or it'd be too long. I won't even mention how long the code is for the AI.
I'm making a sequel to it, so you'll see strategy games comming from me!
