Juiciest looking game I've seen in a long while. The animations look especially nice.
Well done sir.

Have you tested it on a device yet? I'm wondering how well the level map image will perform on ios (unless those are actually tiles. If that is the case, then bravo! you certainly fooled me.)
Reason being, one of my older projects I put on hold for fear of performance issues because of that very setup.

Oh, and do port it for windows as well if you can... I'd hate to miss out on another one of your offerings.

@gamemakerdude: Thank you! I am really excited about where this game is going and I'll update this topic as soon as we make noticeable progress!

@Jagmaster: Thanks man! I really appreciate that! And I have actually been testing it(on an iPod 5th gen, and iPod 4th gen) through out the whole process of making Olo. Before when we had a test level (Below. The right edge is cut off in the topic) The game would work flawlessly on both devices. Every aspect of it. But when we finished this part of the level design (the one in the pics/video) the final result was 9600px/4480px(over 8 MB) which was 20 iPhone screens wide, by 14 screens tall. But GE's max image size is like 8160x8160(Somewhere around there). So we ended up shrinking it to 7200x3520(15 screens wide by 11 screens tall). And though the game worked like a charm on the PC test, The ground would not show up on either device. So we had to splice the image in PS, Crop it in MsPaint, then tile it in GE. It shows up and works now on both devices, but gets a bit glitchy when a new section of the ground comes in contact with the view. But I'm hoping with Activation Regions and possibly more splicing(Make the Tiles even smaller) it will run smoother in the long run.

Hope I didn't bore ya to death!

I changed the tile size of the Ground Background to 480x320 and now it's running rather smooth on my device!

lets just hope Akr gets the AppStore problem fixed! I would love to continue making this with GE.!

Hah no! Useful information thanks. That very method came across my mind at one point as well.
But yes, it's all looking quite good. I'll be looking forward to your updates.

I like how the player kind of blends into the darker backgrounds. It might be neat if his eyes would glow brighter when he is in the darker areas (so that the player can see him a little better)
