How did you learn Game Editor

How did you learn Game Editor? What's your best advice to newbies? Where do you start? Where do you go next?

What are your favorite demos? Which demos do you recommend a newbie start with?

What is your favorite platform game demo? Does it have a written documentation file to go with it? That would be worth diamonds, imho. : )

Are there any doc files re the documentation files? I have trouble downloading and saving or printing the files that talk about scripting and some other things in a readable format. The right side is cut off. It would be very helpful if there were a printable format to those documentation files.

I have sprites and tiles and know what I want to do but am totally lost as to how best to do it.

I'm not a newbie in terms of making a game and making a viable game story/plot/plan but am a little perplexed how to get started here with Game Editor.

some of my favorite demos are Gogo's mini cross platform game (cuz it shows you simply how to make an actor move properly and jump.)
jazzy's delta v is pretty good at showing you how to use randomness.
that's the first demos I have looked at and they taught me the basics.
Also check out the turtorials in the help menu, makslane's done a good job there also.

Basic, basic knowledge which can't be basicier (lol) is to know how to make an actor move, add animations, work with them, then create variables, play around with them (at that point, you begin to make real, playable games).
Then you go on and on, like j2graves said:
