In Flash this is easy because it uses vector graphics and you can change the actor's dimensions at run time.
In game editor this would be clumsy because you would have to have several animations of different sizes and rotations that would change as your character changed its distance and direction.
Not practical without Flash.
Maybe Makslane could add Flash support at some point at least for the desktop.
Then this would be easy. It would add a lot of additional effects as well...
