Master and I had a great productive night talking about the game. We came to the decision that the enemies should represent the 3 poisons in buddhism. "Greed, Anger, and Delusion" Master has attached a preliminary character. We can work on shading it and adding some detail to it. That character represents Anger. The Greed character has the ability to eat the blocks that the monk places and it can steal the merit the player collects. To defeat the greed character we use red blocks which are filled with bad karma. Since it is greedy it will eat anything so we can get it to eat itself to death. LOL!
The first level will be a tutorial level of the monk scaling a mountain that leads to a temple. On his path he meets up with different NPCs. 1. An old man 2. A dead person 3. A memory of his own childhood where we, the player, discover that his mother's death is what sets him on the path. Player has to use the blocks to solve mini quests given by these NPCs in order to gain safe passage into the next part of the level.
That's pretty much what we discussed. The next thing we need is some core artwork so Sonic and I can start the programming.
