guys, This is not a game, but rather an incomplete abandoned project - coding is still unfinished and buggy. I do think however it may help someone else so i am posting here. (if it doesn't belong in this section feel free to let me know maybe the graphics section ?)
anyhow
this is a very very early attempt at game-editor ( in fact this was the main reason I chose game-editor because this game needs pixel perfect collision)
it was a start on recreating one of my most favorite games of all time "Impossible Mission" ( now I am showing my age), but unfortunately just as i got really started on it, I found out the Wii platfrom was already about to release a remake so, i stopped..
anyhow, i am posting it here mostly as a demo of some "dynamic lighting effects" that i was working on..
The actual "coding" is crap ... as i said this was the first game i started on.. so please ignore any code. or if there is question about it please ask
90% of all graphics were created by me ( although I did do screen grabs from the original game to use as templates) so please do not borrow them without asking... because I may yet reuse them in another game/ and/or there may be copyright issues, that said... if anyone is keen on continuing this project, or a similar game, and wishes to do the programming, I am happy to continue creating the rest of the graphics and/or similar ones.. ( providing we do not infringe any copyright stuff), but i have since moved onto my 3d project, so the programming would be for someone else to do
anyhow, as a demo of lighting effects ....and as far as dynamic lighting goes... in reality ... it is all dynamic shadowing... shadows work much better with alpha blending then lights do..
another effect that may be useful to someone is the reflected light on the robots when the lightning is zapping. although there is probably a better way to do it..
hope it helps
feral
oh: the other thing maybe worth checking out is how i did the double platform, but i think this has been covered by someone else and in a better way.
ps: thanks to a demo by sergeant sparky which showed me what alpha blending is
PPS: left and right curser keys to move, up key to "search objects" and press 'a" while in the shaft will show a retro "jump" as i said tho, all still buggy and incomplete...
