turn based strategy

Postby Aziel » Tue Mar 06, 2007 12:42 pm

hi people,

apologies if this is a tiresome question but i'm new to all this stuff. was wondering if anyone has made or is making a turn based strategy game of any kind with game editor.

i've got all these ideas up in my head and on paper in terms of game structure but really haven't even attempted to use game editor yet. have made a load of 8bit ff style sprites (no where near complete tho with all the different career pathways and animations i have in mind) which i'm fairly pleased with so far.

so if anyone has done or is doing any turn based strategy stuff it'd be cool to see what it's like for reference or maybe even with a view to some kind of collaboration. if anyone has played just breed for nes that was kinda the style i was thinking of but with more depth/customisation tactics ogre/fft style.

cheers

I'm just working on one game like that! :D I haven't yet decided how it will be but it will be a fight between two players. There will be a basic terrain, and the two players are moving on that terrain. They must move/attack in a short time. Little like the Worms game.

hmm interesting tekdino but not really the direction i'm aiming for the worms-esque time limit turn based strategy thing but cool stuff. if u haven't heard of it u might find this game called gunbound of interest and as a reference point. i haven't actually played it yet but it looks really cool and i think it's totally free! check it out:

http://www.gunbound.com/

if u know of anyone working on a more purely turn based and grid based strategy game with game editor let me know.

good luck with ur worms type thing tho!
