Well, welcome to the club. I am also new (I bought the Game editor a few days ago). I could achieve some tasks but more and more I am approaching the point where there will be need for scripts (Random appearance of actors and the scores.)

I think, it should be made clearer to the newbie, that scripting skills ARE actually required to properly use that software.

There are some tutorials of course, some forum-articles also, but like you you I don't understand not the slightest bit. They require a basic knowledge I don't have.

There should be a tutorial which is much more suitable for the absolute beginner, or some functions like making scores should be available with clickable functions.

Does any of you know where us absoplute beginners can learn scripting in a step-by-step way from the very basics on?

Even if you have programmed in Borland TP long ago or PHP nowadays, it should be no problem working with GE.

Okay, I can write html, but that's no "real" programming. I am a comic artist and thats the side from where I was coming into the idea of making a game. I have no problem to draw characters and create animated cartoons. But I will have to learn EVERYTHING about scripting.

Novice. Thanks for the link! I will try this out!

I mainly programmed with basic. I wouldn't suggest it to you though, because once you have learned it, it is a bit tricky to learn another language! (I programm in quite a few languages now)
