Here are some pix of my current project Endless Cathedral.

I am having problems exporting the file, though as always it plays fine in game editor.
This is the same problem I am having with all my games over 16 mb. GE crashes on export in Vista, and exports a retarded exe file in XP, but only with these large games. Endless Cathedral clocks in at 20 mb with only 1 and 1/2 levels, and no enemies yet, and I assume it will be >100 mb when its finished. Is there a limit to the size of a game in GE? Or is it just my script, and if so, why does game mode play fine in the editor?

What should I do? I really want to make this game happen...

The scripting in BossDestroy is very similiar to this game....any experts out there, please take a look at my BossDestroyHard file in the demo page and see if you can find what's keeping it from rendering....I tried removing almost every actor in the game, to no avail.

I really like the way GE functions; the endless void allows for much more artistic freedom than the 'room' map editors; It allows you a theroretically infinite number of parallax layers and sprites and allows you incredible freedom to control them; this sets GE above all the other 2d editors that I've been able to find. It also has superior graphic handling, both with transparencies and file formats. I understand the scripting pretty well, and the math in my games makes sense to me and plays the way I want it to....

If only I can make the exe files proper, I am confident I can make a nice living selling my games, and not have to work a crappy job.
Thanks for listening.

It plays pretty much like Castlevania, but doesn't really have anything to do with vampires....though I have a few grim reapers planned.

Why is there a 10mb limit?

There is no size limit for export games.
The size limit is here in the site to upload the games.
Game Editor is an open source game creator software that's wants to pay it's developers to keep evolving.

Indeed there is no size limit for exporting games. I think my problem is very different.

Just a word of caution for vista users - windows vista does not allow certain functions to be run more than one at a time. For instance, having a program open that uses hotkeys in a certain way (like mediamonkey) causes char *key=GetKeyState to become invalid. Upon opening a ged file with that code, ge says 'there are errors in your script'. Close mediamonkey, and the problem goes away.

That is just one of the many wonderful problems you too can experience by running vista. (my fave is the subwindow hiding in between other windows....imagine ctrlaltdeleting a program just because it's open file window is hidden underneath the main program window....lmfao!)

Endless Cathedral is moving along quickly, I have added meters, a special weapon, and the first enemies. The demo is scheduled for mid April, and I hope to have at least 4 playable levels by then.

If it is for the forum is too large post but just one Link. Example a zip to your website upload.
