Cowboy (wild west) art topic

Postby jimmynewguy » Sat Mar 24, 2012 3:45 am

Jimmy is still trying to become a better artist. Here's a few things for a new project I'm working on. But first some of what I have.

I've been working on this game for me and my brother to play together (2 ps3 controllers plugged in via usb) of two cowboys fighting bandits, Indians, ect. I think I will make a single player version of the game and upload it here, but it will not include some game modes, maybe. I plan on having different levels show up in the game (protect the bank, arcade shooter train raid type like time crysis style, boss battles). But I'd like to get some feed back on what I have so far as far as spriting. Also, any advice (especially on how to make this tileset not look so boring, and to fix the randomly shaded cactus I drew in 30 seconds) would be amazing. Any and all input on the animations and overall look so far.

Funny walking animations, and yea the bullets get offset by his gun moving up and down in game

The little X (scaffolding I guess you could call it) turns transparent when the player goes behind it.

The general mood I want to set with the music, this song has it. Any ideas on a midi type song like that?

It's just a matter of getting the right notes. I didn't get all the right ones on the piano, but the others came out ok.
