Found a good site for noobs trying to learn about pointers. This guy 'runchman' seems decent and straightforward in how he explains things. No wise guy, smart arse stuff just straight to the point (no pun intended).

For absolute beginner's there's good stuff on his teaching site that covers arrays, looping (for, while...do), switch statments, etc...
