How does GEPlayer get iDevice's ftp details?

How does GEPlayer pluck out an iDevice's ftp address for a user to ftp files to that machine?

How can we do this from GE?

If its possible, can we ftp files to users iDevices with impunity or does this violate any of Apples terms of user?
