Registration Question

I was wondering if registration carried over to future versions of GE; is registration only for a single version of GE, such as the 1.xx series, or is registration for lifetime, so that I would also be registered for 1.xx, 2.xx, 3.xx, and further?

I like the sounds of the new registration policy. Under this policy, the end user is paying for the work on the product until the point of purchase + one extra year's worth of work, rather than getting a larger or smaller amount of updates based upon the release schedule.
