Postby DBGames » Tue May 04, 2010 9:59 pm

hi, i am having trouble coming up with the menu style i want, and all the different variables. (eg. transparency, along the left, in the center, opaque, fly out, etc.)
i also need this to fit with a 4 x 4 and 1 x 4 grid for my customize menu. i don't like childish, bright button styles. more professional. but all i need is idea's any help?

I have an idea :O Have the menu (The one that holds the options for "Items, Stats" Etc...) fly up from the bottom, and the window that contains the characters information to fly in to the right! :D try a wooden style, like chipwood or bark wood styled With a moving animated background :D that would be a professional menu :3

does anyone know of a way for a size changing background selection box... to explain,

in final fantasy (12) they have lets say this setup...
Code: Select all
Attack
Magick & Techniques
Mist
Gambits
Items

The selection box would be like so...
Code: Select all
{Attack}
Magick & Techniques
Mist
Gambits
Items

When it moved down the box wouldwnt disappear and reappear, it would stretch out to the size of the next selection name as it moved...
Code: Select all
Attack
{Magick & Techniques}
Mist
Gambits
Items

i was thinking CTW but that seems to extreme for such a small funtion...

Create separate animations for the different backgrounds, create an actor under each selection, then make all of them transparent, and then depending on the selected one, you make them transparent, and visible...

well then you need to create animations that resize that background. Then when the selections are made, you move it, by changing its velocity. Create some wire framed regions, with which the background would collide, and when they collide, the background stops...
