gp2x Version running terribly slow

Postby EvilDragon » Sat Sep 23, 2006 11:13 am

Hi,

I just bought the latest Game Editor to try out creating some gp2x games.

As a start, I downloaded the GE Rally and the Jump'n'Run demo, changed the screensize, etc. and compiled them for the gp2x.

They do run - but terribly slow.
Sound and graphic often do stutter...

What am I doing wrong?
Cheers,
EvilDragon.

Not all games will run at same velocity of desktop.
I'm working in some speed improvements, and I hope release soon.

Are these speed improvements only for GP2X?

The 1945 demo uses a lot of transparency and is not good for slow devices.

Please, download the 1945 demo and test the '1945 optmized.ged' and 1945.ged projects.
Tell me if you can see any performance gains.

Well, I didn't try 1945 as I didn't want to take the time to change the controls ;)

I just tried GE Ralley and the Jump'n'Run games, both didn't look too complicated and both run unplayable slow on the gp2x... I'll try the optimized version later :)
Cheers,
