Hello!
I think a market exists for original well crafted games in minority languages.
There are millions, if not hundreds of millions of people who don't have any videogames in their native language.
Let's work together to make original videogame media for minority languages.
It might not be apparent to a native English speaker; but English language media is so influential that it really overpowers some minority languages. Of course being able to speak English is a blessing. But it can come at a terrible price; Once a language is gone, it's gone.
Gaming isn't about cutting edge technology; it's about having fun.
But when you achieve something in a game, the achievement is restricted to the reality of the gameworld- hence the perception among non-gamers that gaming is a waste of time.
Gaming isn't just about having fun; it's also about a fulfilling experience.
Millions of people have a minority language in their heritage, but live in an English speaking community.
I propose making games which players can use to activate that 'other mind'; developing the cognative capacities that are disrupted by the ubiquity of the majority language media in their enviornment.
Is anybody here interested in this project?
