how do i use this kind of actor?

i have some mario stuff and one of them is yoshi.when i bring up the yoshi picture on the add animation screen it shows 2 yoshis.one of them is stand up and one of them is crouching with his tongue out.how do i use only one of them?i tried useing an image editor and erasing one but that really messed things up.i couldn't use the other yoshi after i had erased him.please reply with an answer on how i can use one yoshi.thank you.

You can put in several files with the same resolution, and name img001, img002...

Or, put in a single file all frames side by side, but keep each frame with same width.
