Another screenshot, and a cheat: You can get more money by typing 'refund', but beware, it will make the creeps stronger!

most of the time, the lasers and health bar of the enemy and the indication cursor doesn't get erased when they need too, and that's kinda annoying cuz you can't do anything when that happens, sometimes happens for a minute :\

that's what the save/reload function is for, to clear the memory, but i know, that when the game is very active, it does it anyway. yes, very frustrating.

Too bad, because the main activity in a td game is tweaking your setup during the level, and its really not possible in the later levels of this game.

The tower hop thing is just ridiculous, the tower is supposed to match mouse position but just wanders off on its own. Every now an then you'll place a tower and it will fly offscreen very quickly.

This is why i'm giving it away for free.....

I still consider it the best TD game I've played :)

I am really interested in how you did some things like targeting, graphics, etc. Can you give a brief explanation of how you programed the basic game mechanics? Also the buttons and backgrounds look nice, how did you make the light effects on the buttons with Gimp?
Very nice game, by the way. Probably the most professional-looking one I have seen on GE, except possibly winter blast. I just finished circuitron on 4x speed. The tower jumping is really annoying though, and I think the earlier leves could have been a bit harder. Overall though, it was lots of fun! I spent a few hours on yesterday.

Good job!

I think you're referring to the bevel filter, to add a '3d sides' look to things. Unfortunately, in Gimp the filters are sometimes very clumsy to use(especially because they lack preview histograms), but you can find it in
filters>decor>add bevel.

Explaining the targeting and game methods is something i'll have to look into; i have to find a way to explain the concepts behind it without giving away my script (because i can port the script and reuse it in commercial games).

Thanks for your comments.

Update: Found that the Timers were causing the problems. The timers were getting dumped by the program when the cpu usage went up. Many events were on timers-
the canvas erase, the placing tower following mouse, targeting, upgrades....all the things that were glitching were on timers.

The downside is, that once i put these events to draw actor, (and this is why i used timers in the first place) the game actually does slow down now, as it uses a lot of cpu. But at least it isn't glitching. I haven't uploaded the newer version yet. Still ironing out kinks.
