Damaged .ged Files

Postby Superbeni » Sun Aug 19, 2012 10:28 am

After a long break, I´m back to GE, but I´ve encoutered a serious problem, that i can hardly work with.
Regularly, my .ged file gets damaged, and i cannot open it again, i need to backup ~every 10 mins.

Right now i got a quite weird problem, i got a game (still on the way to beta, but whatever), i can open it, but as soon as i save, i cannot open it again.
As the game progressed from Alpha to Beta, i also renamed it, could this have caused these problems?

I hope someone can help, because i can hardly continue like this.

I played around a bit with renaming, i guess you may not change the filename, but need to "save as".
Should have known this :/

Changing the filename wouldn't fix your problem, but it definitely wouldn't cause it. Using save as just creates a new copy of it with a different name. If you still have no luck, you might try merging your game into a new ged. You'll have to redo any code that belongs to the view actor though.
