sound effects...simple question

How do you guys make your sound effects?

The world is at my disposition, I like recording random things, while doing random noises then mastering them with Audacity/wavepad. Or, I make them with openMPT

tahnx, but i don't have a microphone, and i don't know how to use openMPT oh well thanx alot!

EDIT: Could someone be so kind as to make me 5 different pitch "beeping" sounds, please and thanx in advanced

Here is a place you can get a few samples (that is, sound effects) and they have lots of video game related sounds (sword slashes, etc.).

If you create an account there ( no credit card required or anything like that), they will give you ten euros credit, and you can download stuff.
