What did I do?

Postby Nextoy » Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:25 am

So in this game I'm making I just got finished getting my character to be able to move around and jump properly, got the gravity set up and all that, and then I accidentally move the ground sprite a little and it freezes up.

Well I close it and open it again later, and now it freezes whenever I try and load up the .ged. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to start over at this point. So let me ask this: what the heck did I do to cause it?

It freezes when loading the ged? From what you said, I can't pinpoint a cause, nor do I remember any similar reports. Perhaps you can post the ged and data?

Yeah, sure. Added a zipped file with both of them in it. Sooner I can figure out what the heck I did, the better.

Also, could the .undo files have anything to do with anything? Just trying to cover all my bases. There's a .ged.undo and a .ged.undo.tmp.

It won't let me unzip the file.

The .undo file is used for recovery purposes (it stores all the changes, and when using windows you can use it to go back to the last working change). The .undo.tmp file is used for crash recovery (restores the last possible data if the program didn't exit properly [you may need to use maximize to activate the recovery]).

I could try zipping it in a .rar format if that would work for you?

Either way I don't know if maximizing would help, (not quite sure what you meant) since merely selecting the file to load causes it to freeze. Plus if I wait it out to unfreeze, it ends up crashing.
