Actor steals animation from other actor!

Postby Diana Kennedy » Fri Dec 09, 2005 5:21 am

I have to deal with a curious bug. I have by now two different looking actors, with each 3 different animations that work just fine. But when I reload the game, actor Nr.2 steals its first animation-files from actor 1 and therefore looks like him. But only in the first animation sequence.

That looks like this:

Here the how it should be:

And after it restarts, it looks like this:

:? Hmmm ... That is maybe a problem with your actor's sprites in your data file. Try to delete the "bugged" animation sprites from your data file and in GE, reload them to your actor using the source sprites. Save, close and reopen GE.
What happen ?

Also, verify both actors' sprites name in your Data file. Ex, if first and second Actors' sprites are both called "Robert#n" and that they are stocked in your data file, reopening GE will cause the problem you are having.

Ingsan, thank you I think you were right. I did as you told and it helpd. The file names were not identic, but too similar. (one 01.png and the other 0001.png) this was probably too close. So I gave defintely different names and now it works.

Merci! 8)
