help with ascii order

can any one tell me the ascii order because i made my own text and the letters work perfect but symbols and numbers don't so i'm thinking that's the problem but i want to know for sure so if any one has ever made their own text for a game and it worked tell me how u did it.

This is the ASCII order:

!"#$%_'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTU VWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~

The first place is used for your spaces, just so you know. (It's sort of hard to tell in the above example.)
