(Sorry if it's a bit rubbish - I used MS Paint which I think is the most rubbish editor ever. :? )
Here's my little button thing which you can use.

Paint is not rubbish.
Bee-Ant uses it for all of his graphics. :D

No, Bee uses Kolour Paint.
It's a mspaint fake for Linux you know? XD

I know it. I have ubuntu and Kolour Paint.
But I said Paint because it's similar to paint.
(Some better features though) :D

Paint is probably the most competent image editor out there. No program can do what paint does the way paint does. Not even paint on vista or windows 7. (Yeah, those are fail ): )

I mean just look

I used a calculator to calculate the gradiant number, and I double clicked a color, bringing up the custom color panel as well. :)

well initially, I just though "I want a gradiant from 127 red, to 255 red" so what I did is this: (255-127)/8 , eight being how precise the gradiant will be, adding 127 to that number will give us the tone we want. And I ended up with this:

159
175
191
207
223
139
255

thus that gives us the value for making a gradiant. The glossy looking is by increasing the luminosity for certain lines instead
