What should i do for a menu, hub world, and different levels

Postby UltimatHedgehog » Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:39 pm

I want to set my game up to have a menu with story and fight mode. Story mode having a hub world and go into fight levels. Fight mode having character selection then going into a fighting level.
Should I put the menu, hub, character selection, and levels on different files? Or have it on one with different variables for each type, changing the controls for each? Or is there a better way?

I always thought Hell would be a giant load screen that goes on for eternity, then one day, eons later, it would end, only to reveal a slightly different loading screen.

Hmmm, that could be one way, save your various files and load them in seperate game files, or just save the variables in the view actor (i use the view cause it never gets destroyed  ) and when you switch between modes it could be in 2 different regions, the first region containing your overworld and such and the second containing the battle scenes, its up to you how you want to do it i guess, but if you need help, many of us would be glad to help.

Also, wouldn't this topic have been better in the game development section?
