Goomba: If we are going to create the oporating system with Game Editor, then why shouldn't we use the .dat extensions for games? All we would have to do is use LoadGame() to open the game from the sd card

i went to the link and i read the page it said for PC so i thought we couldn't use it for the lightweight linux thing

Goomba : it is really good project but you need to think about what you will do after you success to make this device. if this device is small and work. I think all of GE user would like to have one for sure.

the dat file is for PC but not belong to Linux or Windows isn't it. It is the DOS Basic.
if you use EXE file. the game can run on windows so it is like no point to use this device.

Yes, DAT files are best to use. you can also rename the .dat extention to .gep or something.


NOTE:
I'm working very hard on the interface of how the O.S should look, rather it be a linux system or what ever it might be. I'll keep updated with this topic, be sure to download the latest GEPOS (GameEditor Portable Operating System) when it's released.

We can use the .dat file extension and i only have enough money to buy a few of the parts and to buy the tools i am also figuring out the details like what kind of power supply will it use and what the name(as everyone has read we are figuring out the name together ) and etc. i also need to figure out how i am going to make the controls

how about this
i know it might sound like a lot of work but it might pay off
use a Exe file only to use on your system
and make it so that i can read Java files so in that way all porgammmers can work on it
you can make it like .GEP like that
